Why ?

Severe operating conditions (temperature, pressure, vibrations), together with the service life of products mean that the product needs to be made from materials that have long-term stability.

The materials used are metallic (housing, conductor) and the electrical insulating material around the conductor is made of glass.

How?

The bond between the different materials is obtained by using either the expansion properties of the materials themselves or the chemical interactions between the metallic components and the glass or alternatively a combination of the two: this is glass to metal sealing technology.
